Batty Business

An influential businessman arrived at his company, located at 16th and Emerson, early one morning in September and found the office in a state of confusion and fear. The companies receptionist informed the gentleman, with sheer terror in her voice, that there was a bat in the building. She, as well as some of the other employees, were trying to figure out the best way to kill it. The businessman put a stop to that plan immediately, as he found the solution unacceptable. After calming everyone down, he started to make some phone calls. Finally, he got UWR's number from Wild Birds Unlimited. He called us and explained the situation. We eagerly offered the bat a haven, here at the facility, for the winter. He caught the bat in a glass jar and brought him over immediately.

He is a beautiful, Big Brown bat and perfectly healthy. He was upset when he first arrived, as he had been displaced and was scared. But, he calmed down immediately and ate all the mealworms offered to him. He's of a very calm nature and a lovely soft brown color.

We thank this gentleman for fighting for his life. Without this wonderful man's intervention, he would have surely been killed, for no reason other than fear.
